"A big part of my fears about coming here was to be able to feel safe and not under pressure and immediately found that those fears were resolved so I could enjoy the course."
Plant stall at Kingsland Post Office
This year's Mental Health Awareness week also sees the installation of the Cart Shed’s plant stall outside Kingsland Village Shop & Post Office. Many thanks to Chelsea and Jabez the proprietors who have allowed The Cart Shed to have the stall selling flower and vegetable plants grown and nurtured by Cart Shed volunteers.
In 2016 enough money was raised from plant sales to fund a 12 week therapeutic programme for someone struggling to cope with their mental health.
Being able to have space at the front of the shop gives residents and visitors to Kingsland the opportunity to buy top quality plants, support a local charity and adds to the growing acceptance that good mental health for all is everybody’s business.
In recent weeks, much has been said about mental health and the need to encourage those who are struggling to come forward and seek help.
If you are struggling, where do you go to get help?
In Herefordshire one organisation that may be able to help you is The Cart Shed www.thecartshed.co.uk , which offers therapeutic activities throughout the year in the natural environment.
ps: Kingsland Post Office and Village Shop recently opened a lovely tea room, serving delicious cakes and light meals!! All the more reasons to visit!
